My blog is mine. The domain is "owned" by me. Technically they could take it down because I don't literally own it, I don't control the DB for it, but close enough.
The branding on my blog is entirely mine.
I can do what I want as long as it's not illegal where I live (or the TLD's country).
My blog posts are better thought out and better written than what I put on social media, arguably that's my fault because I could post better stuff on X too.
But, at the end of the day, on my blog things last forever, and on social media they don't.
Nobody reads tweets older than a few days. All brilliant thoughts are lost forever after a few hours. Meanwhile on my blog you can see what I've written going back to 2013.
I'll be making an effort to post to my blog more often, to counter act these points.
And put effort again on making my blog more readable. I need to get a good font or something, I don't know.
Now however there is a point here, which is that people can't find my blog! It's no longer part of the internet culture for everybody to add gems (blogs) they like to their personalized web feed (RSS client). For this reason I will post every blog post on social media as well, however short lived that attention will be.
I might use social media for one off thoughts, that I will also write down somewhere else. And then I'll turn them into proper posts later. (Zettelkasten style?)
